A. Could you please tell me if the sentences below are natural?

He had the answer, but he said nothing. Instead, he went and brought a large box including/containing some photos.

B. Is the word "include" correct in the sentences above?

he went and brought does not sound natural to my ear. I suggest eg he went and got.
