Are the sentences below okay?

2. He gave his gloves to charity. OK but an odd thing to do.

You might like to look at the word donate.

Joseph AHe gave some money to the fund.

In the case of a fund, I think most of us English speakers would be inclined to say 'contributed' rather than 'gave some money'.

He contributed to the fund.
