Are thr following sentences natural?
1. Sonny Liston was threatened to lose to Cassius Clay.
2. Sonny Liston was threatened to lose to Cassius Clay to avoid punishment.
3. Sonny Liston deliberately lost to Cassius Clay in 1965 to avoid killing/being killed or punishment.
There was a rumour at that time that Sonny Liston lost to Cassius Clay so that he (Sonny Liston) wouldn't be punished.
