Are the following sentences natural?
1. The noise outside diverted the students' attention from the class.
2. Please, don't divert your colleague's attention from the class.

(1) is OK. (2) seems to be intended as more of a conversational sentence, and the phrase "divert someone's attention from the class" is at a level of formality slightly above what we would typically expect in a conversational context. That doesn't mean it's wrong though.
