Syntax

Hello everyone,

Could you please point out the mistakes in the following sentence?

Eg. My village is used to depending on itself from now and on.

"from now and on" isn't right. You may be thinking of "from now on", which means "beginning now and continuing (indefinitely) into the future". However, this does not fit with "is used to", which talks about past and present experience.
