Synonyms for towards. Unit 6.

Hi Teachers,

Information to consider:

Then he got on his bike and began to go down the hill very fast, towards the house.

I've seen that a synonym to 'towards' can be 'in the direction to' and 'in the direction of'.

Are both correct? If yes, what is the difference?

Ah, well. Maybe it's British construction. If it's OK in BrE, you can use it.

I know it's different from in AmE and different to in BrE, but that's the only expression with "to" that I know for sure is British usage.
