Synonym for 'get off'. Unit 6

Hi Teachers,

Is it a good synonym 'descended of' in this context?

Baxter got off the train at a small station.

By the way, 'get off' has the same meaning as 'get up' when you refer to something that you have been standing, sitting or lying on, you move your body from it.

Thanks in advance

That doesn't sound completely correct to me. I think "Bob ascended the train" would be more accurate than "Bob ascended on the train." I think the best synonyms to use would be "to leave" (instead of "to get off"/"to descend from") and "to board" (instead of "to get on"). Does anyone else have any thoughts on "to ascend"?

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for your reply. It did help me. Unfortunately I can't change them because they are recorded on a CD
