Synonym for "followed by"

I'm looking for a word/phrase in particular, but I can't think of what it is. The thesaurus didn't pick up this phrase. You know how "was prior to/prior to the" is synonymous with the word "preceded"? Is there a word/phrase that means "followed by something"? I'm looking for something other than "succeed".

I'm a bit confused as to what, exactly, you're looking for. ex: The rule will go into effect subsequent to its approval by the executive board. [ Is this what you want?

At times a reverse dictionary like onelook reverse-dictionary would be handy when thesaurus fails. However it cannot replace a native-speaking friend
