Symbolic speaking

Hi
I'm looking for a term in English language. Let's say I throw this sentence "I'm not gonna a shoot a gun I didn't load again" and by that I mean I'm not gonna rely on other peeps when doing a particular activity and delegate part of the job to someone else, Instead I'm gonna do it all the way from the beginning until the end all by myself so I'd make sure everything is done alright.
Is there any term for this way of speaking? Maybe "Symbolic Speaking"?
My sincere thanks

Hi, I don't see anything 'symbolic' about this. I don't really see anything in this statement that warrants a special term. You are simply speaking about self-reliance.
