Would you please tell me what this sentence means?
I don't understand "swollen shut".
"The window frame was swollen shut."

Someone who has been hit near the eye can have his eye swollen shut as well. There is so much swelling (puffiness) that he cannot open his eye.
(Just to give you another use, not to contradict the prior answer in any way.)
