switch out

You should really think about switching out your old TV.

Can you say this in place of change out.

Thanks!

Does it not make sense or can't be said?

Neither makes sense to me. They may be part of some dialect, or a form of slang, that I am not familiar with.

If so, it suggests to me the act of replacing one thing with another similar thing, but not the act of replacing an old thing with a new thing.

You have given me too many links.I can't spend all day looking at them all. Please be more specific as to the meaning you want to focus on.

You gave me a link that used 'switch out' to mean 'turn off'. That's fine and common. But was that the meaning you wanted to ask about? I don't think so.

I think you're right, however, I think what I've suggested can also be said and understood. Not by me.And I don't hear it said. I still don't know clearly what you mean.
It's' time to switch out my old TV!

As I said, I wouldn't understand that was your meaning.
Perhaps in some other place or age bracket, lots of people would. But not in my experience.

'Switch out' makes no sense to me, either.

You should really think about replacing your old TV.
