Swift

Can you say: Have a swift and smooth year!

Top answer

You could, but I'm not sure what you'd mean by it! 'Smooth' is fine, I understand that to mean that you are wishing someone no problems for the coming year. 'May your affairs run smoothly this year'.

  • 'Swift' means 'quick' so I'm not sure that anyone would understand your meaning; would you wish someone a 'quick year'?
  • One that is over quickly?
