'Sweets'

Hi!

Please tell me, in a party we have soft drinks, sweets, some appetizers before a dinner for example, cake, and snacks (opposite to sweets). Is it correct ?

No. Snacks are very small amounts of food, usually eaten with the fingers. They are not the opposite of sweets. You can snack on sweets, in fact.

As for party foods, sweet foods are not normally served before dinner in the U.S. They are served after dinner.
