sweep funds overdraft

What does 'sweep funds'? Do we say 'to your account'?
Checking, Savings, and Money Market accounts can now be set up to automatically sweep funds to avoid an overdraft to your account.

Is cover the correct word?
I had to cover my overdrawn account.
Thanks

Hi I think this refers to a service, offered by some banks, that links a number of your accounts - for example - current account, savings account, mortgage, investment If you have an overdraft on your current account (which is expensive) and there is spare money in one of your other accounts then they will 'sweep' the spare money into your current account to cover the overdraft. e they will automatically move the money from one account to another, so that you do not lose out Hope this helps Dave
