S.V.O. Sentence Structure

'Mary rewarded herself.'

Hello,

Just wondering where the above fits into the normal S.V.O. structure.

I.E. Can a sentence's subject and object be the same?

If so, is it a special kind of sentence?

Thanks

Mary rewarded herself . The reflexive pronoun "herself" is a complement of the same verb as the antecedent, so the meaning is that the person rewarded was the same as the one who did the rewarding. Other than that, there's nothing at all unusual about the internal structure of this S-V-O construction.
