suspect English

Hi,

"If you want, you can skip the first two sections and read right onto the third".

(1) "...Read right onto the third" - is it correct grammar?

(2) "skip the first two sections" - sounds a little too informal? What words do you think can be used for "to skip" in this context?

(3) How about the following version:

"You can skip the first N sections and proceed to the last one right away"?

If you could "polish it up" for me please?

Read right onto the third" - is it correct grammar? Oh, the grammar is fine; the preposition is not felicitous, but it seems natural enough spoken in class. MUSCOVITE 2) "skip the first two sections" - sounds a little too informal?

Thank you so much Mister Micawber!
Mister Micawber the preposition is not felicitous,
What alternative preposition can be used for "onto" in the original sample sentence then?
"on"?
"to"?
Or maybe the whole sentence will fall into pieces if try remove "onto" from it?

Oh, I suppose that I expected something like this:

If you want, you can skip the first two sections and read right from the third.
