In my opinion, this cultural fluidity, which has been talked about for some time, is not only a means of enriching the culture – it also has the potential to be of vital importance for the continued dismantling of deeply embedded social hierarchies. To begin with, there are still clear differences in the way that each arena of practice is perceived with art, in particular, surviving as a cherished cultural category. One reason for this is that its stars, and the work they produce, are firmly entrenched in an economy that needs to maintain the integrity of art as a separate cultural arena.

Right. I would have used a comma: "there are still clear differences in the way that each arena of practice is perceived, with art, in particular, surviving as a cherished cultural category."
