Survey (need help correcting and rephrasing the question)

Could someone help me correct this? Could someone tell me which is best 1 or 2 and if 3 is ok?

1 My experiment was to leave laptops unattended in different fastfood restaurants throughout the city and seeing which laptops would stay in their place the longest without/before being stolen. All of the to show which districts are most in need and the poorest.

2 ..... seeing which laptops would be left in placethe longest....

3 How long will the laptop stay unattended before it gets stolen/until it gets stolen?
