Sure,secure,confident...

Which are the main differences between these words? Can I say, "He looked very sure" or should I say " He looked very confident/secure?

More context would help. Sure, confident, secure, certain, etc. are all possible choices depending upon the context and what you are trying to convey.

I just wanna know if there are any differences between them. If I want to say that someone sounds confident when he is giving a speech, confident is the most suitable one? What other adjective could be used for expressing that a person is self-confident when he speaks? And could you give an example with the other words, or they are just synonyms and it's the same?
Thanks in advance. Greetings.
