IMHO, both 'share' and 'support' grammatically work fine;nonetheless,contextually, in the sentence--"I don't share his opinion. I am against what he said"--the first sentence doesn't have a meaningful relationship with with the second sentence. I guess others may have different views on this.

I am afraid I can agree. The possible meanings of 'Share' and 'Support' are given below,and I am not able to correlate these two words.

Share-->split, go halves, contribute, divide, divide up, carve up, distribute, allocate

Support-->hold,bear,carry,sustain,maintain

Would you please provide an example where 'Share' and 'Support' mean same? May

In the following sentences, we can replace "share" with "support" to transfer the same meaning. I guess it comes from this sense of "share" that when a group of people share an idea, ... ,they believe in that idea,... and thus they support it! Hope that it helps.
