Supplemental Spousal Liability - It makes no sense to me

I will go to my agent for some help on this, but for the sake of studying English, please help me interpret this paragraph on a letter my insurance company sent me:
Supplement spousal liability insurance provides bodily injury liability coverage under a motor vehicle insurance policy to cover the liability of an insured spouse because of the death of or injury to his or her spouse, even where the injured spouse must prove the culpable conduct of the insured spouse.
My main difficulty is that there are too many "spouse" on this paragraph and I just lose track who is who.
Are they trying to make it as concise as possible so we know exactly what we're getting, or as confusing as possible so we just giving up on reading and sign the damn thing?

I read the original a couple of times, and it made sense to me. Lars's rewording is fine also, but I think the original is worded that way because only spouses are subject to the clause.
What the clause describes is a reciprocal agreement between spouses to provide no-fault coverage in case of injury to either spouse, caused by the other spouse's actions (while

It's legalese, not meant so much for you to understand as for the adjusters and lawyers who are going to handle a case in which, say, you get clobbered when your spouse has a close
