Supper sopper

The umpires are out there inspecting the conditions. The super sopper is in action and it looks like it would atleast take another good half hour before there is a chance of play resuming. The Indian support staff are keen to get on with it, the SA camp on the other hand are all inside the comforts of their dressing room. They look in no hurry what so ever....

Could you please explain to me what "supper sopper" means here?

I guess that it must be a machine that removes water from the field. I've never heard it before, but it makes sense. I have seen such a machine removing water from a baseball field.
