Superlative with THAN and if or when

Are these possible?

1 It's a lot cheaper if you buy 3 than if you buy them separately.

2 You can sleep 30 minutes later when you don't have class than when you do.

They are possible.

cheaper and later aren't superlatives, by the way. Those would be cheapest and latest.

Also, in a real conversation you would leave off than when you do.
