Hi, In this part of the world and for all intents and purposes, "sun screen", "sun cream" or "sun block", practically refer to the same product which all offer certain degrees of protection from UV exposure.

I'm pretty sure I've never said "sun cream." Only "sun screen" or "sun block" for me. I expect this is one that has regional variations.

Hi,
I'm not big on cosmetics, but in the US "sun screen" is the generic term for any product which blocks UV, as you say, and most of them are rated with a number system.

Tanning lotion is an old term. I haven't heard "sun cream," but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it exists, knowing how advertisers grab anything they can.

I see a little "umm...." on the term "sun cream", so I'd like to expand a little on the term. In Asia,

people tend to call any prodcut they find on the shelves of a drug store which has the consistency of "lotion" and can be applied on their skin "cream", although one product may have a higher consistency over the others. So "sun cream" is not a surprising term to me. Hope that makes sens
