summertime

I was looking at the dictionary I have for the word "summertime" and in it, it was listed as an uncountable noun and had this example. Is this example with the underlined article "the" right?

It is a very beautiful place in the summertime.

Why not? It, the word "summer time, is an uncountable noun.

It is a very beautiful place in summertime.

Thank you.

Is it more clear to the questioner if one says "The definite article THE is used with singular, plural, countable and uncountable nouns when both the speaker and the listener have a prior understanding of the thing or idea in question already."

Sorry for sounding picky.
