Hello, are the following sentences correct? Thanks in advance.

Short description
While on a sightseeing trip with his wife and brother-in-law, a man becomes involved in a murder investigation in Hong Kong.

Long description
A middle-aged fashion designer, Xu Lai, takes his wife and brother-in-law on a vacation trip to Hong Kong, but he really wishes to use this opportunity to reconnect with his first love Yang Yli who is in Hong Kong. However, his hopes are dashed when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder investigation.

Top answer

Yes, both the short description and long description are grammatically correct. My thought is that "wishes" might instead be "intends"; although it is not a criticism or correction of your version.
