The bar graph plots how the drinking behaviour of the Americans was in the age group 16-74.

Overall, the never drinkers and ex-drinkers tend to be twice as many as the light drinkers and heavy drinkers.

In detail, 60% ( nearly two-thirds) which is the highest percentage of never drinkers belongs to the people from 16 to 24 years old. It is also nearly closed to people from 35 to 44 years old. The age group 65-74 has the smallest percentage of the never drinkers, about 45% while the age group 25-34 and 45-54 have approximately the same percentage of the never drinkers, about 55%. The percentage of the ex-drinkers is likely to have an upward trend in old age and it reaches the highest point in the age group 65-74.

The third figure shown is light drinkers. There are 30% of people from 25 to 34 years old who are light drinkers. The age group 65-74 have the smallest percentage of the light drinker. When it comes to heavy drinkers, the age group 45-54 has the greatest percentage, about 15%. Contrary to this group, the age group 16-24 and 65-74 have the smallest percentage, about 5%.
