"suit" vs "be suited for"

Hi, please help me.

1:You can choose whichever course suits your needs.

2:You can choose whichever course is suited for your needs.

Is there any difference in meaning between these sentences?

Technicially, the sentence, as written" is considered incorrect without "that" to tie the " suits your needs" to the main clause.

If I may respectfully disagree, I think the subordinate clause is imbedded, or something like that. Isn't the whole subordinate clause the direct object of the verb? You may choose X.

You may choose what you like. .

You may choose whomever you like. .

Would you say, "You may choose whomever that you like?" Isn't the
