I am going to apply for PhD position at some Univeristy. English is not my first language and I need your help. I would be very grateful if you can comment my letter. It is very important for me, every suggestion would be be helpful.

I am writing to apply for the PhD position in ... group at Laboratory of ...

I am currently studying Master’s Degree programme at ..., where I alsco received my Bachelor degree in Analytical Chemistry. Recently, I spent three months at .... (CEEPUS programme) working on my Master thesis project in the field of electrochemisty (...). There, I acquired my interest in electrochemistry and decided to continue my academic training in that field. I was very delighted to receive an information from prof. ... that there is possibility to prepare a PhD at ....

During my studies in ... I had the opportunity to work in a stimulating international environment and to develop new laboratory skills. I alsco had the pleasure of having my first lecture during ... – „ ...“. I uderstood that working independetly, having a high sense of responsibility and continuous learnig is something I want to connect my life with. This summer I am going to... (some course) organised by .... , Slovenia. The main topics broach on this course will be environmental chemistry and toxicology. The programme will be organized in the form of intensive lectures together with laboratory practice. I wish it is another opportunity to broaden my horizons and gain new skills, which I can use in future work.

I decided to pursue my career with a PhD in a foreign country because it is extremely challenging and motivating for me. Your project immediately piqued my attention because it meets my interests and aspirations. Especially, .... is really fascinating topic for me. It would be a pleasure for me to have chcance to develop this idea. Moreover, I think this project gives me the opportunity to develop and improve in a research field and alsco to work in an interdisciplinary environment, of a highly qualified academic level.
