Suggestion for my motivation letter

I am a college student applying for master programs in Germany. I was required to write a motivation letter. But I know little about German professors. If there are any friends from German or studying in Germany, could you please give me some suggestions for the contents? For example, what do German professor want to know from my motivation letter mostly? Thank you!
