Suggested Revision

I’m a nonnative speaker and I have been learning English.
My English teacher’s suggested revision are follows.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d like to drink.
- I’d like to have a drink
My parents walked.
-My parents went for a walk.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to know that you, native speakers of English, agreed that.
The glimmering of an idea is that it feels like that the former sentences are better than the latter sentences according to minimalism (I would go -> I’d go).

My parents walked. This sounds as if you are telling someone how you parents got to where they are. They didn't drive. They walked.

In my opinion, it has nothing to do with the contraction. The confusion is between " I'd like..." and " I like...". For former ( I'd like) suggests intent or desrie. For instance, you
