Suggest novels

i want to improve my english. please suggest me a good novel which is easy to read and has good story. i have read novels of chetan bhagat and found it easy and great. suugest those novels which can be easily available in india.

I would think that nowadays almost any book is available to Indians via Amazon.com or other internet sources. Here are some novels that succeed with my students:

The Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway
True Grit, by Charles Portis
The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding

Reading the simplified version of World classic novels can be a good starting point.

It would be fruitfull becuase you can read the unabridged text as your English improved, and since you know the story because you have already read the simplified version. you don't find it difficult to keep up with the story.

this method has worked for me. I hope it does for you too.
