Suggest doing something

BulbulTadaThe doctor suggested me (a pronoun) that I (a pronoun again!) should take exercise. ?

Please read it as 'suggested to me' instead of 'suggested me'. Wouldn't 'suggested me' mean that I was suggested as a suitable person for some purpose? Perhaps 'dummy of the month' award on Englishforums! Anyway please do suggest about any mistakes in my comments to me.
