Mine is exactly the same as yours, Clive.

But for my friend, she say in reported speech, we must shift the tense backward, so she do it as:" Shouldn't have been"

Is it right or not?

Hi,

Mimi suggested that the chicken shouldn't have been eaten This sounds like the chicken had been eaten at the time of Mimi's suggestion, and that Mimi is expressing 'regret'.

Best wishes, Clive
