Hi
This is the vocabulary we use in our country to talk about a disease a person is suffering from.
Cancer patient
Heart patient
Sugar patient [She is a sugar patient and she shouldn't be eating so much chocolate.]
Could you please tell me how they sound to you?
Thanks,
Tom
The first two sound fine. 'sugar patient' sounds like a patient who tries to make a good impression on the doctor by bringing gifts of candy, but I suppose it's really a diabetic patient or diabetes patient. CJ

Cancer patient: someone being treated for cancer.
Heart patient: someone being treated for heart disease.
I have never heard of "sugar patient". There is no part of the body named "sugar", nor is sugar a disease.
