"such that " has frustrated me , help me , please.

I have a question to ask , i don't know if the expression "such that" could mean "the reason is that..."?

The method 2019.7 "die shear strength" in the MIL-STD-883F has such a sentence :

"After initial contact with the die edge and during the application of force, the relative position of the
contact tool shall not move vertically such that contact is made with the header/substrate or die attach
media. If the tool rides over the die, a new die may be substituted or the die may be repositioned,
provided that the requirements of 3.1.c are met."

the question is : the contact should be required? Or the contact should be prevented ?

i know that the "such that " could always be "the status is that ....", "the level is that ..." ,
but i don't know if it has the meaning of "the reason is that..."

For example , i wanna say "i could not understand the standard because i am lacking of the knowledge"
could i express the meaning with "such that " in such a way ?

"i could not understanding the standard such that i am lacking of the knowlege"

THIS IS a Importand question , i have almost been frustrated by the "such that "

Hi, and welcome to EnglishForward! From Merriam Webster: 2 : in such a way <related such that each excludes the other> shearfrustrated For example , i wanna say "i could not understand the standard because i am lacking of the knowledge" could i express the meaning with "such that " in such a way ? " i could not understanding the standard such that i am lacking of the knowlege" No, I don't think you can.

  • " i could not understanding the standard such that i am lacking of the knowlege" No, I don't think you can.
  • You would need something different, like "because", which would be the most common particle to use for that meaning.

'such that' is used in a few very technical senses, usually in mathematics, but I think its use spreads sometimes into other sciences and engineering (as seems to be the case here).

It isn't part of any 'normal' vocabulary so unless you need it in its technical meaning, don't use it.
