Such that comma?

Is this sentence puctuated correctly?

I dissected the cystic artery free and separated the tissue around the area, such that the only two structures communicating with the gallbladder in the area of the porta hepatis were the obvious artery and the cystic duct.

Yes, the comma is fine.

But ... "dissected" doesn't really go with "free". You can "cut" something "free", but "dissect" as a verb doesn't take an adverb.
