Hi, everyone.
"I will not bother to try and find out whether that person, whose picture I am looking at on Instagram, is better than me, such as whether he/she is more beautiful than me or he/she is richer than me.
"I will not bother to try and find out whether that person, whose picture I am looking at on Instagram, is better than me, such as in terms of whether he/she is more beautiful than me or he/she is richer than me.
Could you tell me whether both the above sentences are correct?
Both sentences, though intelligible, are incorrect in their use of "such as". The second sentence seems worse than the first. You can say this: I will not bother to try and/to find out whether that person, whose picture I am looking at on Instagram, is better than me — for example , whether he/she is more beautiful than me or he/she is richer than me.

"try to" i
No. The problem in both sentences is that there is no clear antecedent to which 'such' refers to.
Consider this version.
I will not bother to try and find out whether that person, whose picture I am looking at on Instagram, is better than me in terms such as whether he/she is more beautiful than me or he/she is richer than me.
