"such as to" - what is the meaning?

Dear everyone,

Can you please explain me the meaning of "such as to" !
Here are the full sentence: The dimensions of the test jig shall be such as to give the bend test specimen a calculated percent outer fiber elongation equal to at least that of the base material with the lower minimum elongation as specified in the base material specification.

And if possible, please give me more futher examples.

Hi Michael, You have to parse the sentence differently. Such is an adjective, describing particular dimensions that meet the conditions. as = a conjunction to give = an infinitive.

as = a conjunction
to give = an infinitive.

The dimensions of the test jig shall be such (dimensions), so that, as a result, the jig will give the bend test specimen...
