Say eg 'It's a pity that she didn't continue to play in a musical style such as this."

We also use 'glad' (in the sense of pleased, happy) not gladful, THNC. And I'd suggest "to learn my mistakes." or even better "to have my mistakes corrected."

It's a good idea to start a new thread when the questions are not related.

In short, we use "an" before a vowel sound. Is there a vowel sound at the start of "cute"?

A cute little dog is correct. You use "an" only when it preceeds a word or an acronym that begins with a vowel.

...that begins with a vowel SOUND. Not a vowel.
