Such a charisma?

Hi,

This sentence comes from a documentary movie about Hitler.

The man gave off such a charisma that people believed whatever he said.

I've always thought that charisma can't be measured or counted... Shouldn't we say such charisma? We don't say charismas, do we?

But... dear Phillip... the sentence comes from a BBC documentary... So, is such a charisma a mistake? An error?

I am known to make a mistake now and then, and I suppose BBC is as well. There may be a difference in usage across the pond.

I see. Well, thank you very much. At the same time, I hope some British English speakers will add their opinion as well.

True. charisma is uncountable.

On the other hand, uncountable nouns are treated as countable when modified by adjectives.

knowledge > a good knowledge of French
wine > a robus
