subtle yet eye catching...need help!

I used the words 'subtle yet eye catching' together when I was describing a small title in the bottom left hand corner of a photograph. Someone said it doesn't make sense and is impossible. But I and many others beleive what I have said does make sense and is perfectly right.

I would appreciate some help with this argument,

many thanks,

Leighton.
