What does "substantial" mean in this sentence?

What does "substantial" mean in this sentence? Consisting of matter.

eg A brick has substance.

eg A thought does not have substance.

"There in the vacuum it will unfurl four triangular sails as shiny as moonlight and only barely more substantial."

The basic idea is that it is very small, ie has very little substance.
