Subjunctives

Dear all,

Just a little question that is bothering me.

Which of the following would you consider to be more correct:

(1) If it were raining, and I were without an umbrella, would you lend me one?

(2) If it were raining, and I was without an umbrella, would you lend me one?

Thank you in advance!
