Subjunctive Mood with future tense. Are they correct?

1. "The king will command that his warriors be ready for war today"

2. "The teacher will suggest that each student read this book"

My understanding of the subjunctive is that you implement the present subjuntive after the word "that" in a dependant clause when the independent clause contains a desire.

Hi,

I remember having a rather lengthy discussion with someone on this forum before regarding the use of differnt moods of subjuntive.

Your examples kind of make me sractch my head a little as I don't ever remember seeing "will" used in the construction of subjuntive sentence, especially with the "that clause" variety.I may be wrong but I'd write:

"The king commands tha

They are correct. You won't see or hear them much, however. The future plus the subjunctive is not a frequently used combination.
