Subjunctive ?

«I was willing that others, coming after me, should continue the argument—that is if, upon reflection, they were still of opinion there was anything more to be said.» Is it a subjunctive mood " I was willing that they should continue" or will the subjunctive mood be I was willing that they continue ? Thanks

, with "evaluative should ". I was willing for them to continue — idiomatic modern English I'm guessing this is an excerpt from a rather old text. CJ

I was willing that they continue— present subjunctive
I was willing that they should continue— periphrastic subjunctive, i.e., with "evaluative should".
I was willing for them to continue— idiomatic modern English

I'm guessing this is an excerpt from a rather old text.
