Subjunctive

Example: He would play should the others fail.
Should the others fail, he would play.

Are these sentences correct? In the first, must there be a comma before should?

Thanks. Are there other ways to expres such conditional statements? If others should fail, he would play. This one I can think of. Is there any other way of writing it? Were others to fail, he would play. If others were to fail, he would play.

'Yes' to all of those, or simply 'If others failed, he'd play' / 'If others fail, he'll play'.
