Subject vs. Object

I was wondering which of these is correct, or if they might both work:

1. We are best friends, her and me.

2. We are best friends, she and I.

If you consider "her and me" as the object clause of the sentence, #1 actually does work even though it obviously doesn't sound right (just like "between you and me" doesn't quite sound right, even though grammatically it is correct). If the second part of the sentence should instead be a subject clause, then #2 is correct.

#2 sounds right to me because I feel like you're clarifying the subject, not the object. "Best friends" was defined as "we" already. Only "we" is unclear.
