Subject-Verbs

Could these subject-verb sentences be checked to see if they're correct or incorrect? My answers are in brackets. Thanks!

The size of the groups depend on the nature of the task. (incorrect 'Depends')

Playing computer games helps hand-eye coordination.(Correct 'helps')

Neither a wrench nor pliers are useful in such circumstances.(Correct 'Are')

The causes of the current world food shortage is a matter of controversy.(incorrect 'is')

He or his brothers happily cares for the young chickens.(Correct 'cares')

No one in our class or in any of the others do the required reading.(Correct 'do')

A number of the residents maintain the garden beds at the front of the building.(Correct)

The violinist's part in these works are very demanding.(Correct 'are')

In very hot weather, the orchestra find it difficult to play a full symphony.(Incorrect or correct sentence?)

Apologies, my answers on the end are stating that the sentence is correct/incorrect in my opinion according to the subject-verb agreement with in it. Basically, the sentences below need to make sense according to subject and verb agreements.

More of the population are taking the government's
