Subject, Verb, and Object Agreement

Hi there~

I am wondering which is the grammatically correct sentence among the following ones.

a. The three different kinds of maize has different mode of action.
b. The three different kinds of maize has different modes of action.
c. The three different kinds of maize have different mode of action.
d. The three different kinds of maize have different modes of action.

Note: The word 'maize' is an uncountable noun.

From time to time, I am really confused by agreement in a sentence. Please help me out.

Try simplifying the sentence: 'Different kinds have different modes'. You would not think of using 'has' or 'mode' in that sentence, I hope. So can you now decide which of your sentences is correct?
